Suzhou New District in Jiangsu province held an event for the development of its integrated circuits industry on Sept 25, aiming to build itself into an IC hub in the Yangtze River Delta region.
A company specializing in the development of the IC industry was established at the event, which will become a key incubator in boosting the IC industry in the district.
Agreements on a number of projects were signed at the event, covering sectors like LiDar chips, radio frequency chips, and semiconductor equipment and materials. The newly signed projects feature strong innovation characteristics with a wider range of markets and development potential, which will help drive the development of the district's IC industry.
In order to attract more IC companies, projects, and talents to settle in the district, SND and Suzhou Fund jointly initiated the establishment of an IC industry fund at the event with a total of 10 billion yuan ($1.55 billion).
The event also saw the release of a three-year action plan on the IC industry, with the district aiming to attract over 300 companies and generate over 30 billion yuan in annual output within three years.
