Decathlon, a leading French retailer of sports goods, is building a flagship store in Suzhou New District, East China's Jiangsu province which is set to become the hottest destination in town for sports enthusiasts of all ages.
The new outlet will provide a one-stop shopping experience of Decathlon's sportswear and equipment as well as various forms of activities that combine leisure and fun.
According to a project leader, the flagship store will serve as Decathlon's first sports park in China.
The company has also signed a deal with leading fitness brand Yinli Sports to develop Suzhou's largest fitness club within the park. The club will comprise a fitness center, a swimming pool, basketball and badminton courts, a children's dance training hall, a yoga room, and a space for rehabilitation sports.
The sports park project is located to the west of Chengji Road and south of IKEA. It will span 21,000 square meters and have 405 motor vehicle parking spaces.
Construction of the facility is already complete. The park is expected to pass inspection before the Spring Festival next year.
SND has in recent years contributed to the national fitness strategy by constructing sports parks, fitness trails and running paths. It has also held running and cycling races and other fitness activities.
