Suzhou is striving to shape itself into a "chip city" by establishing a complete industrial chain that consists of integrated circuit design, manufacturing, sealing and testing, equipment, materials, and supporting services.
Suzhou New District boasts a fast-developing IC industry with a solid foundation and has built an integrated modern IC industrial layout by taking advantage of the market, the business environment and capital.
The district is now home to a number of domestic and foreign scientific research institutes, R&D institutions, key enterprises, and IC-related industrial parks that occupy a combined area of more than 1.2 million square meters.
These organizations include the Suzhou Integrated Circuit Innovation Center, the New Generation Information Technology Industrial Park, the Hefeng Industrial Park, the SND Software Park, and a number of industrial leading enterprises such as NXP Semiconductors, C*Core Technology, Everbright, Bate Lab, and Hexin Tech.
In line with its long-term goal of attracting more than 300 IC enterprises and generating more than 30 billion yuan ($4.7 billion) in industrial revenue, SND will continue to take full advantage of platforms like the Suzhou Integrated Circuit Innovation Center and strive to keep the IC industry’s growth in output above 50 percent.
