Suzhou's first indoor ski resort, which started construction in Suzhou New District on June 18, is expected to open in June 2024, local media outlets reported.
Covering a total area of 10,000 square meters, the resort boasts a ski area of 8,800 square meters, a recreational area of about 900 sq m, and a preparation area of around 300 sq m. The ski area can accommodate up to 610 people at once, while the entire resort can serve roughly 2,100 people per day.
To contribute to the development of a sponge city, the resort has applied a variety of green architectural technologies including roof-top photovoltaic power generation and a solar water heating system.
In addition, the resort will include a luxury hotel, apartments, and areas for cultural activities and business.
