The Siemens Yangtze River Delta AI Lab was officially put into use in Suzhou New District, Suzhou, East China's Jiangsu province, on May 24, local media outlets reported.

Located in Suzhou Taihu Science City, the AI lab is the first artificial intelligence lab built by Siemens AG outside Germany, where the company is headquartered. The lab is also a significant part of Siemens' future global core science and technology network.

The lab will showcase Siemens' innovative achievements and applications in AI and big data, simulation, digital twin technology, and software development.

The lab is also expected to provide scenarios for the application of innovative technologies by cooperating with local companies and promote the digital transformation of YRD companies and the cultivation of digital talent.

Both Siemens China and Siemens Corporate Technology, the company's central research and development unit, have set up branches in Suzhou. The Suzhou Siemens Electric Appliance Co Ltd, one of Siemens' core businesses, also operates in the city.

With the operation of the AI lab in Suzhou, Siemens' technological innovation layout and global R&D system in the YRD will be further expanded.

At the opening ceremony, Siemens China forged strategic cooperative patnerships with six local companies, including Lexy and Goodwe, to assist them in intelligent transformation and digital upgrading.
