The Suzhou Campus of Nanjing University in Suzhou New District, East China's Jiangsu province welcomed its first undergraduate students on July 22, local media outlets reported.
The Suzhou Campus includes schools of intelligent science and technology, intelligent software and engineering, integrated circuits, and digital economy and management, and has three research centers and nine research institutes.
Its first students include 503 undergraduates, 66 master students, and 45 doctoral students.
To undertake the overflow of the university's science and education resources, SND has started constructing the Taihu Science City International Innovation Community close to the university.

The community is designed to have office buildings, apartments, and commercial facilities and to take on the research and development of industrial projects from NJU and other universities and institutes.
The Suzhou Hospital affiliated to Nanjing University Medical School and the Suzhou Hospital of Nanjing Gulou Hospital Group were also inaugurated on the same day to offer local residents higher-quality healthcare services.
NJU has a history of more than 100 years while Suzhou is a 1,000-year-old ancient city. Both sides have witnessed fruitful cooperation results from years of strategic cooperation in the fields of talent attraction, student cultivation, basic education, and healthcare.
