Ordinary visas of the corresponding type shall be issued to foreigners who enter China for purposes other than diplomacy or service, such as work, study, family visit, tourism, business, and talent introduction. The types and methods for issuance of ordinary visas shall be determined by the State Council.
For entry into China, foreigners shall apply for visas from Chinese diplomatic missions, consular offices or other resident agencies abroad authorized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Aiming to attract more talented people and investments from overseas, China has introduced a more flexible, pragmatic and market-oriented regulation on permanent residence for foreigners.
