The 2023 Guilin Arts Festival was successfully held from Oct 27 to Nov 5. With the theme of coexistence, this year's festival featured 33 performances from 14 countries and regions, totaling over 140 shows.

The festival not only provided a platform for cultural exchange but also promoted the international development of drama. The participating international institutions are members of the World Theatre Education Alliance, which aims to enhance learning and exchange among drama schools and promote cultural diversity and the development of drama education.

The opening ceremony of the festival gathered young artists and the descendants of theatrical performers. The festival focused on cultivating young theater talent and organized the Global Young Chinese Elites Project of Theatre Directors. The main forum, with a focus on youth, invited authoritative figures and youth representatives from both home and abroad, injecting fresh blood into the festival.

The Guilin Arts Festival creates unique theaters amidst the beautiful landscape, allowing stories to unfold in a natural environment. Eighty percent of the performance spaces are located outdoors and include mountain theaters, water theaters, cave theaters, and grass theaters. Participants can also take part in activities like the Youth Theatre Night, Master Dialogues, high-definition theater film screenings, and camping concerts.

The city of Guilin is committed to building an internationally-influential arts festival and a world-class tourist destination as well as becoming an open city for global cultural exchange.
