In 2023, Guilin's four leading industries thrived, becoming key drivers of industrial vitalization.
Guilin Blue Aerospace Tyre Company developed domestically produced civil aviation tires in the equipment manufacturing industry. It advanced the research and production of high-precision gear manufacturing for new energy vehicle electric drive systems, along with China's first actual triaxial press. These initiatives have supported a steady growth in industrial production, with an annual increase of 18.7 percent in the value added of the city's equipment manufacturing industry, where the main business revenue exceeded 20 million yuan ($2.74 million).
In the electronic information industry, Guilin focused on building industry chains for smart terminals, optical communications, and new display technologies, forming an industry cluster primarily centered around new smart terminals, with a year-on-year increase of 21.7 percent in the value added of the city's electronic information industry above designated size.
The pharmaceutical and bioproduct industry has made significant progress. By driving enterprises to strengthen technological research and development and market expansion, constructing the biopharmaceutical and medical device industry park expands, achieving high-quality development.
In the ecological food industry, leading enterprises nurtured multiple advantageous industry chains for specialty foods, Guilin liquor, beverages, and more, continuously enhancing the industry's scale and comprehensive competitiveness. In 2023, the value added to the city's large-scale pharmaceutical and bioproduct industry saw a 5.1 percent increase from the previous year, while the value added to the ecological food industry grew by 5.1 percent from a year earlier.
