Discover Guilin
This year's Guilin Marathon will kick off at 8:00 am on March 17 at the central square of Guilin. The event is expected to draw around 30,000 participants, with 8,000 slots for the full marathon, 10,000 for the half marathon, and 12,000 for the mini marathon.
The 2024 Guilin Marathon has been recognized as a World Athletics Label Event, making it one of the 67 events in China with such a prestigious designation. It meets the World Athletics standards for distance, technical aspects, safety, and runner experience. The number of registrations this year has reached 61,790, an increase of approximately 20,000 from last year.
In addition to its "world-class" title, the Guilin Marathon is also classified as a Class A1 event by the Chinese Athletic Association. Participants' finishing times will be uploaded and included in the Chinese Marathon Platform ranking database.
Since registration opened on Feb 2, 61,790 individuals have registered for the race. Among them, 16,477 registered for the full marathon, with 8,029 selected. Notably, 7,443 participants from outside Guilin, accounting for 92.7 percent of the total, are mainly from Guangdong, Hunan, Guizhou, and Fujian provinces.
Since its establishment in 2016, the Guilin Marathon has continuously improved, evolving into a domestic and international brand event, showcasing the unique charm of Guilin as a world-class tourist city.
