Yangshuo county, located in the south of Guilin in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, has jurisdiction over six towns, including Yangshuo, Baisha, Fuli, Xingping, Putao and Gaotian, and three townships, including Jinbao, Puyi and Yangdi. With its administrative region covering 1,436 sq km, the county rules 15 communities and 99 villages. By the end of 2020, Yangshuo’s registered population had totaled 331,700. The county’s annual gross value of production totaled 10.8 billion yuan ($1.57 billion), the same as that of the previous year, with primary, secondary and tertiary industries accounting for 3.08 billion yuan, 2.16 billion yuan and 5.56 billion, up 8 percent, down 0.6 percent and down 4.4 percent year on year, respectively. Its fixed-asset investment reached 5.75 billion yuan, a year-on-year growth of 5 percent. The county’s output value of industries above designated size grow 20.3 percent compared with last year to 355 million yuan, and its added value of industries above designated size increased 26.4 percent to 47 million yuan. Yangshuo’s fiscal revenue hit 507 million yuan.

The county’s per capita disposable income of urban and rural residents was 41,851 yuan and 19,859 yuan, respectively, witnessing year-on-year rises of 3.5 percent and 8.2 percent. Its total retail sales of consumer goods stood at 4.1 billion yuan and its RMB deposit and loan balance grew 0.7 percent and 22.7 percent to 12.84 billion yuan and 8.88 billion yuan. Yangshuo received a total of 13.7 million tourists, generating 18.16 billion yuan of tourism consumption. The ratio of the three industries in the county was 28.5 to 20 to 51.5. The total amount of energy consumption and intensity were controlled within municipal limits.

Yangshuo has been rated as one of China’s top 100 counties in terms of comprehensive tourism strength for two consecutive years, and has won the title of "Advanced County with High Quality Development in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region" for four consecutive years.
