Yongfu County, located in the northeast of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, is 48 kilometers away from Guilin City, and 35 kilometers from Guilin Liangjiang International Airport. The Hunan-Guangxi Railway and Guillin-Liuzhou Expressway run through the county. The land area of the county is 2,806 square kilometers, and the per capita land area ranks first among all counties in Guilin City. With six towns and three townships under its jurisdiction, Yongfu County has a population of 280,000, and is home to 18 ethnic groups such as Zhuang, Han, Yao, Miao, Jing and Hui.

Yongfu County has a mild climate and a good ecological environment. Its forest area is 14.75 million hectares, and the forest coverage rate reaches 74.8 percent. In 2007, Yongfu County was awarded the title "China Longevity Hometown" by the Gerontological Society of China.

Boasting a number of biological species, Yongfu County has abundant health and therapy resources. They include plant resources such as astragalus, honeysuckle, ganoderma, radix isatidis, lily, bergamot, and strigose hydrangea juvenile leaf as well as animal resources and mineral resources for medicinal use. Among them, the most famous specialty is Luo Han Guo (Momordica grosvenori Swingle).

In 2021, the county’s regional GDP increased by 8.3 percent, the added value of industries above designated size was up by 7.8 percent, and the fixed asset investment grew by 20.4 percent. 

In addition, the fiscal revenue rose by 16.9 percent, the general public budget revenue increased by 7.8 percent, and the total retail sales of social consumer goods went up by 8.6 percent. 

The per capita disposable income of urban residents and that of rural residents increased by 7.1 percent and 9.9 percent, respectively.
