In July, the air cargo volume of fruits and vegetables departing from Guilin Liangjiang International Airport was 468.4 metric tons, an increase of 174 tons year-on-year, up by 59.1 percent, and an increase of 285.9 tons compared to the previous month, up by 156.7 percent.

The major varieties with large outbound volumes in July include 246,000 kilograms of passion fruit, 150,000 kg of loofah, 26,000 kg of chili peppers, and 20,000 kg of citrus. Other fruits and vegetables transported by air from the Guilin airport include edamame, water chestnuts, taro, bitter gourd, and more.

During this year's peak summer travel season, the Guilin airport launched a promotional campaign to support farmers and benefit the people. According to airport cargo staff, from July 1 to Aug 31, the transportation of five local specialty agricultural products—grapes, citrus, edamame, water chestnuts, and taro—via Guilin airport cargo services will be exempt from outbound operation fees.

Additionally, to ensure the freshness of fruits and vegetables amid high summer temperatures, no cold storage fees will be charged for goods departing within 24 hours or arriving within 4 hours.

Statistics show that from August 1 to 14, the air cargo volume of fruits and vegetables departing from Guilin airport was 295 tons, maintaining a high volume of outbound shipments.
