Ode to the Sound of Autumn is a play with a five-act structure written by Tian Han, one of the founders of the Southwest Theater Festival, during the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression.
The story follows poet Xu Ziyu as he grows into a writer amidst the flames of war. The play was a sensation, becoming a classic of wartime literature.
The drama achieved great success and helped the newly established New China Drama Society overcome its financial difficulties.
