Intl conference in Guilin enhances global reach of TCM

On Oct 21, the Guilin International Communication and Exchange Conference on Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and the unveiling ceremony of the Guilin Returned Overseas Chinese Quality Health Service Center took place at Guilin Hospital of TCM.

Key attendees included leaders from various institutions, including Henning Ritter, a professor from Germany's University of Oldenburg, and Chen Gesheng, president of the Swiss Huaxia TCM School.

The event featured speeches from dignitaries and the unveiling of the service center. The Swiss Huaxia TCM School donated 17 wheelchairs to the hospital, and memorial plaques were presented to Ritter and Chen, recognizing them as "International Ambassadors of TCM Culture".

Participants enjoyed a variety of traditional tea and health dishes, highlighting the philosophy of "food as medicine." Demonstrations of TCM techniques attracted many visitors, who expressed great interest in the depth of TCM practices.

Ritter emphasized ongoing collaborations between University of Oldenburg and Guilin hospital, aiming to enhance awareness and application of TCM in Germany. He announced a two-week academic exchange, offering advanced breast diagnosis and treatment for patients. This initiative aims to further internationalize TCM and improve health services for local and overseas Chinese communities.
