The Huzhou Moganshan High-Tech Industrial Development Zone in Deqing county, Huzhou, Zhejiang province, is hiring agencies specializing in technology and innovation to aid in the prevention and control of the COVID-19 virus.

On March 13, the development zone released a notice stating that it has set aside 10 million yuan ($1.44 million) to award institutes and organizations providing advanced technological products to help curb the spread of the virus.

Since the notice was released one month ago, more than 100 Chinese and foreign institutes have signed up for the competition, including technological giants Huawei and Neusoft, as well as universities such as Zhejiang University and Zhejiang University of Technology.

Their products include temperature monitoring devices, rapid detection reagents, multi-functional robots, unmanned logistic vehicles, and more.

Aside from diagnostic reagent kits, all other products make use of big data, artificial intelligence, and cloud computing, helping the development zone and Deqing county build a new-generation artificial intelligence innovative development pilot area.

An official at the Moganshan High-Tech Industrial Development Zone said that a large number of projects have been submitted to the competition, suggesting a healthy business climate in the zone.

According to the official, many companies have expressed a desire to set up operations in the zone and in Deqing county.

Next, the Mogashan High-Tech Development Zone plans to carry out a preliminary review of the projects and accelerate the application and production of technological products.

According to policies introduced in the zone, winners of the competition can receive up to 800,000 yuan in subsidies and have their projects incubated in the zone.
