AG100, a new generation trainer aircraft, successfully completed its maiden flight at the Moganshan airport in Deqing county, Huzhou, East China's Zhejiang province on June 20.
The plane was developed by the Zhejiang China Aviation Industry General Aircraft Institute affiliated with China Aviation Industry General Aircraft Co Ltd.
Chief test pilot Zhao Renbo and co-pilot Jin Changdong reported after landing that "The aircraft has good maneuverability and stability, and all systems are working normally. The first flight is a complete success."
The AG100 aircraft is designed to meet strong demand in both the Chinese and global markets.
The three-seat plane uses gasoline as fuel. Its fuselage is made with cheap and safe all-compound materials, making the plane suitable for junior pilot training.
The successful maiden flight has won wide recognition from domestic flight training institutions. Some, including Henan Civil Aviation Development and Investment Co Ltd, Jiutian International Flight Academy from Qingdao and AVIC Flight Academy from Zhuhai, signed procurement deals after the flight.
In April 2017, Deqing partnered with China Aviation Industry General Aircraft Co Ltd. Through joint efforts by the two parties, the AG100 trainer aircraft has been developed and is ready for mass production.
