Flower-adorned dragon boat launched to mark Duanwu Festival

A dragon boat adorned with flowers and flags was launched in Huanggoudang village, Hongqiao town, Changxing county, Huzhou on June 2.

It was part of activities to pray for a prosperous year both for the villagers' families and the country, as well as to mark the upcoming Dragon Boat Festival.

The Dragon Boat Festival, also called the Duanwu Festival, is traditionally celebrated on the fifth day of the fifth month on the Chinese lunar calendar.

A series of folk art performances were also staged in the village.
