Exports from Zhili town in Huzhou's Wuxing district topped 5 billion yuan ($769.23 million) after the implementation of a market procurement trade model in late November last year.

Statistics show that more than 8,400 declarations for exports under the market procurement trade model have been made in Zhili to date, with commodities like children's wear, textiles, toys, house products, and wood products being exported to 126 counties worldwide.

In mid-September, a total of 17 markets nationwide, including Huzhou (Zhili) children's clothing and consumer goods trading management center, were designated as national pilot zones for market procurement trade.

The model is one in which eligible business operators buy goods with a single declaration value of up to $150,000 in market cluster areas recognized by commerce authorities and other agencies, as well as undergo export goods' clearance procedures at the point of purchase.

Eligible enterprises will be entitled to VAT exemptions and faster customs clearance services. They are also allowed to directly collect and settle foreign transactions.
