Huzhou in East China's Zhejiang province has made great strides in rural revitalization in recent years, according to a government conference held on June 28.

In 2020, the added value of agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery in Huzhou rose 2.8 percent year-on-year to 14.95 billion yuan ($2.3 billion), ranking first in Zhejiang.

The per capita disposable income of its rural residents was 37,244 yuan, up 7 percent year-on-year. The income ratio between its urban and rural residents narrowed to 1.66: 1, making it one of the regions with the smallest urban-rural income gaps in China.

The city was also ranked first in Zhejiang in both the provincial annual assessment on rural revitalization and the digitalization level in agriculture and rural areas.

Numerous places including Yucun village in Anji county have emerged as national models in rural revitalization as the city continues on the green development path based on the "lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets" concept.

The local government has set the goal of becoming a pioneer in rural revitalization amid Zhejiang's drive to build itself into a national demonstration zone for common prosperity.
