Huzhou is positioned to be a regional transportation hub in East China's Zhejiang province along with the cities of Jiaxing, Shaoxing, Quzhou, Taizhou, and Lishui, according to the comprehensive transport hub development plan during the 14th Five-year Plan (2021-25) period that was recently released by the provincial government.

A high-speed railway station will be built in the city's Nanxun district, according to the plan.

Efforts will also be made to accelerate the construction of Huzhou East Railway Station, injecting new vitality to the eastward integration of Huzhou into the Yangtze River Delta.

Zhejiang aims to reduce the average transfer time at the comprehensive passenger transport hub to eight minutes and keep the reloading time at ports to within two hours by 2025.

It is also striving to limit the travel time from the central urban area of its prefecture-level cities to airports and high-speed railway stations within half an hour.

Efforts will also be made to build Hangzhou, the provincial capital, and Ningbo Zhoushan Port into global comprehensive transportation hubs.
