Three Huzhou counties - Anji, Changxing, and Deqing - have made the 2021 list of the top 100 counties in China in terms of comprehensive tourism strength.

Anji topped the list for the third year in a row, while Changxing and Deqing ranked third and eighth respectively, according to the recently released report.

The report evaluated 1,881 counties on the Chinese mainland in categories including tourism revenue, facilities and services, as well as quality and market supervision.

In 2020, the added value of Anji's tourism sector accounted for 10.6 percent of its total GDP, while tourism income accounted for 20.34 percent of its farmers’ income. Both were higher than the provincial averages, according to Luo Fudi, deputy Party chief of the Anji bureau of culture, sports and tourism.

In the first half of this year, the county welcomed 11.3 million tourists, generating 14.65 billion yuan ($2.25 billion) in tourism revenue, up 51.8 percent and 43.1 percent year-on-year respectively.
