Nineteen enterprises from Huzhou recently made the 2021 list of top 500 companies invested in by Zhejiang businessmen, local media reported.

The list was compiled by Zheshang Magazine, a leading financial magazine focusing on Zhejiang businessmen.

The list ranked the companies according to their revenues last year and showed that each recorded revenue of at least 1.17 billion yuan ($180 million), an increase of 23 percent year-on-year.

In 2020, the aggregate revenue of the 500 listed companies totaled 9.7 trillion yuan.

The companies from Huzhou included Tianneng Holding Group (11th), Chilwee Group (15th), as well as several newcomers like Zhejiang Orient Gene Biotech Co Ltd and Zhejiang Jiemei Electronic Technology Co Ltd.

Despite making the list for the first time, Zhejiang Orient Gene Biotech was ranked 297th.

In March last year, the Anji county based company received approval from the National Medical Product Administration to produce COVID-19 nucleic acid test kits, making it the first company in the city and the second in Zhejiang to obtain the qualification.

Six Huzhou companies made the top 100 list, all of which achieved revenue of more than 22 billion yuan in 2020.
