Deqing athlete wins bronze medal at Tokyo Paralympics

China's Jiang Jijian and Liu Shuang claimed bronze in the final of the PR2 rowing mixed double sculls at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games in Tokyo, Japan on Aug 29.
The Chinese duo made it to the final after taking first place in the group stage on Aug 27.
Jiang is the first Paralympian from Deqing county, Huzhou. He was born with a leg disability in Deqing county's Qianyuan town in May 1992.
Due to his long and strong arms, he was selected to be a member of the rowing team for the disabled in Zhejiang province.
In May 2016, Jiang participated in the World Canoeing Championships for the disabled held in Germany for the first time.
In August the same year, he won the gold medal in the 1000-meter mixed rowing event in Chungju, South Korea.
In September 2019, Jiang participated in the World Rowing Championships held in Linz, Austria and qualified for the 2020 Tokyo Paralympic Games.
