A total of 107 enterprises from Huzhou, East China's Zhejiang province have obtained 142 green product certificates as of Aug 31, according to the Huzhou municipal market supervision bureau.

Huzhou ranked first among all prefecture-level cities in China in terms of certificate amount.

In April 2018, the city was listed as the nation's first pilot city for green product certification. The certification work has been widely welcomed by enterprises as it slashes institutional transaction costs for businesses and improves products' creditability.

To date, more than 75 percent of companies that have passed green product certification from Huzhou have been granted preferential treatment in loans and over 52 percent of them have reported a year-on-year increase of more than 10 percent in sales.

The city has also established a green product exhibition hall online to attract government purchasers. Since its launch in June last year, more than 10 million yuan ($1.54 million) in transactions have been made on the platform.

In addition, great efforts have also been made by the local government to facilitate the mutual recognition of different certification mechanisms. Currently, notable progress has been seen in the building materials sector.

To date, a total of 5,320 green product certificates have been issued nationwide.
