An additional six pocket parks, also known as mini-parks, will open to visitors in Huzhou, East China's Zhejiang province by the end of this month, according to the Huzhou municipal bureau of construction.
Covering 5,000 square meters in total, the parks will offer places for surrounding residents to rest and relax.
A pocket park is a small outdoor space usually located in an urban area surrounded by commercial buildings or houses.
Official statistics show that Huzhou has built 96 such parks across the city, with another eight still under construction.
These parks not only offer added color to the city, but also a leisure place for neighboring residents, said an official from the Huzhou municipal bureau of construction.
In addition, the city has strengthened afforestation efforts. This year to date, it has built greenways with a total length of over 50 kilometers and constructed 91 hectares of green belts.
