A cycling race around Mogan Mountain was staged in Huzhou's Deqing county on Oct 31, with riders primarily from the provinces of Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai municipality.

The 77-km race route passes through numerous scenic attractions including Laoling Scenic Spot and the characteristic tourism town done in style of the Minguo period (1912-49).

Fu Haoting, a cyclist from Hangzhou, won the race with a time of 2 hours, 25 minutes and 19 seconds.

He lavished praise on the event's organizers, pointing to the well-planned route and safety measures.

Li Lin, a cyclist from Shanghai, said that he had cycled around Mogan Mountain thrice before and that the cycling routes and natural scenery are very attractive to cycling enthusiasts.

Luo Yu, a representative of the organizers, said that the choice of Mogan Mountain as the cycling event's venue was mainly due to its good air, beautiful environment and suitable tracks.

Mogan Mountain is worth visiting in autumn. The mountain was listed by the New York Times as one of the 45 best places in the world to visit. It is renowned for its pristine natural views, homestays, and boutique hotels.
