Construction of the stadium that will host the 3-on-3 basketball competitions of the 19th Asian Games in 2022 is in full swing in Huzhou's Deqing county.

With an investment of 633.4 million yuan ($97.45 million), the stadium, which is located in the Deqing Geographical Information Town, began construction in late August and is scheduled to be completed in May 2022.

Deqing has also been selected to host the group stage of the Asian Games' volleyball event, with 140 athletes from 10 countries and regions expected to compete in the Deqing Sports Center Stadium.

The Deqing Sports Center Stadium has been upgraded and passed examinations by the Hangzhou Asian Games organizing committee.

Deqing's rich experience hosting high-profile sports events and its proximity to Hangzhou, the main venue of the Asian Games, make it stand out from other candidates.

It takes only around 10 minutes to travel from Hangzhou to Deqing by bullet train.

A number of high-profile sporting events, including the 2019 Canoe Polo Asia Cup and the TNF Cross Country Race, have been staged in the county.

Deqing has been rated as a provincial model county in sports development and designated as a national sports industrial base.
