Over 3.26 million people in Huzhou, East China's Zhejiang province, had completed their COVID-19 vaccinations as of Dec 14.

A total of 7.069 million jabs had been administered in the city, official data from the Huzhou Center for Disease Control show.

People aged above 18, which total 341,000 from Huzhou, had received their booster jabs, while 239,000 children aged between 3 and 11 had received ther first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Over 76 percent of people aged above 60 in the city had been inoculated.

Seniors who are eligible to be vaccinated should do so as soon as possible, as people aged above 60 are at high risk of severe illness and death once infected with COVID-19, said an immunology expert at the Huzhou Center for Disease Control.

Children are encouraged to prioritize COVID-19 vaccination and mind the proper interval between vaccines.

Side effects from novel coronavirus vaccines are lower than those reported for other commonly used vaccines, according to current monitoring results.

People with chronic illnesses who are in stable health and on stable medication can also receive the vaccine.
