The Certification and Accreditation Administration of the People's Republic of China recently praised Huzhou's accomplishments as the nation's first pilot city for green product certification.
The city's experiences in green product certification will be promoted across the nation, according to the administration.
The eastern Chinese city has made remarkable progress in this area since it was designated a pilot city for green product certification in April 2018. It had authorized 120 companies and issued 152 certificates - the highest among cities in China - as of October.
The city has also established a unified green product certification and labeling system. For example, the six standards set up by Huzhou for wood-based panels and wooden floors have won national recognition and have become government standards.
Moreover, Huzhou has set up a traceability system to enhance consumers' confidence in local green products, which enables consumers to trace the source of every green product they buy.
In addition, the local government have made efforts to facilitate the mutual recognition of different certification mechanisms. Currently, notable progress has been seen in the building materials sector.
