Short-distance travel preferred during New Year holiday

Visitors to Huzhou in East China's Zhejiang province during the recent New Year holiday were mostly from Zhejiang and its neighboring provinces and municipalities, and they mainly traveled by cars.
More than a half of the visitors came from Zhejiang, while 9.94 percent came from Jiangsu, 8.18 percent from Anhui and 7.88 percent from Shanghai, official data from the Huzhou tourism big data center shows.
Winter tourism products including skiing and camping were popular among visitors.
An array of cultural activities including exhibitions and New Year bazaars also added to the city's festive atmosphere.
COVID-19 containment measures have been strengthened to ensure the safety of people visiting Huzhou.
Visitors are required to have their temperatures taken, show their health codes and wear face masks before entering scenic spots and cultural and entertainment venues.
Travel agencies and online travel companies from the city have suspended inter-provincial group tours and related services in medium-and-high risk areas.
