Huzhou in East China's Zhejiang province has become increasingly attractive to global talents in recent years.
The city has been rated "excellent" in a provincial assessment on talent introduction for eight years in a row.
It ranked 29th in China in terms of attractiveness to talents in 2021, according to a report released last October.
The city's increasing attractiveness for talents can be partly attributed to the local government's strong efforts to recruit talents.
In 2021, the city allocated a special fund of 977 million yuan ($150.3 million) to attract talents, which was double the previous year's figure.
In addition, it has held a large number of recruitment events including venture contests to attract premium talents in the fields of digital economy, high-end equipment, healthcare and new materials to the city.
Last year, the city attracted 1,040 high caliber talents from home and abroad.
Meanwhile, 17 enclaves for projects established by high-end talents have also been erected by the local government in cities such as Shanghai, Hangzhou and Shenzhen.
Huzhou has built innovation service facilities for six local sectors including aviation, electrical machinery and furniture by partnering with renowned universities like Zhejiang University and University of Electronic Science and Technology of China.
These facilities currently house 863 engineers and have helped local companies solve 310 technical problems.
Holders of QR codes designed for talents in the city can enjoy preferential treatment in the fields of catering, tourism, accommodation, culture, sports and transportation.
