A memorial hall is erected in Huzhou, East China's Zhejiang province to commemorate Zhao Mengfu (1254-1322), a renowned Chinese scholar, painter and calligrapher during the Yuan Dynasty (1271–1368).
The memorial hall, which is located within Zhao's former residence, covers 4,500 square meters.
The hall features a detailed introduction of Zhao's life and replicas of his signature calligraphy works that are stored in the Palace Museum.
Zhao married his wife Guan Daosheng (1262–1319), who was also a painter and poet, when he was 36. Inside the memorial hall, there is a pavilion named after a poetry written by Guan.
The poem was created by Guan to express her insistence on the exclusivity of love after she learned that Zhao was planning to marry a prostitute he had fallen in love with.
Zhao was deeply moved by the poem and cancelled his plans. The incident drew the couple even close together.
