Huzhou leads Zhejiang in food, drug safety

Huzhou was ranked first among cities in Zhejiang in the annual provincial assessment on food and drug safety in 2021, according to local media reports.
The satisfaction rate among residents towards food and drug safety in the city stood at 88.4 percent and 90.77 percent respectively, both hitting record highs.
In the past year, all inspected drugs AND no fewer than 90 percent of sampled food met the required standards.
Authorities handled 5,192 cases related to infringements of food and drug regulations, up 8 percent year-on-year, and cracked 120 criminal cases in this regard.
In addition, the city has stepped up the promotion of traceability systems concerning cold chain food and agricultural products launched by the provincial government and improved the transparency of food production and cooking processes.
