Deqing wins national honor for rural road construction

Deqing county, administered by Huzhou, East China's Zhejiang province, was recently honored as a national model in rural road construction.
A total of 153 counties and districts across the nation won the honor, which is conferred by the Ministry of Transport.
Over the past three years, Deqing has built over 150 kilometers of rural roads and renovated old ones with a total length of 32.94 kilometers, official data show.
In addition, it has repaired more than 223 kilometers of rural roads and made bus services available to all its villages.
Over this period, the county has also constructed 250 kilometers of greenways, which connect scenic spots in rural areas with one another.
A digital platform has also been established with an investment of 12 million yuan ($1.85 million) to strengthen road management.
The improved traffic connectivity has greatly bolstered local rural tourism and facilitated rural revitalization.
