Ancient town marks Lantern Festival

An array of folk activities was staged across Huzhou, East China's Zhejiang province on Feb 15 to celebrate the Lantern Festival.
The Lantern Festival falls on the 15th day of the first month on Chinese lunar calendar, which is Feb 15 this year. Its arrival also marks the end of Spring Festival celebrations.
Qianyuan, an ancient town in Huzhou, marked the festival by holding activities including dragon dance, lantern riddle guessing, and artistic performances.
Qingyuan served as the political, economic and cultural center of its Deqing county from 691 to 1994, and was one of the main production areas for rice and silk in Zhejiang.
