Huzhou in East China's Zhejiang province recently unveiled an additional eight measures to bolster common prosperity.

One of the measures is to optimize the allocation of medical resources in urban and rural areas.

The city plans to eliminate 140 million yuan ($21.53 million) in medical expenses for local residents and speed up the process of seeing a doctor, according to Ma Jiangen, deputy head of the Huzhou Municipal Healthcare Commission.

In addition, the government will strengthen care for the disabled. According to Zhou Yu, vice president of the Huzhou Municipal Disabled Persons' Federation, Huzhou currently has over 73,000 registered disabled persons.

Starting from this year, they will be included in the city's old-age, medical care and accidental injury insurance system, with expenses being covered by the government.

The disabled will also be exempt from parking fees.

Meanwhile, the city will further promote garbage sorting in rural areas to bolster the "Beautiful Village" campaign and offer more financial support for rural revitalization.

Huzhou also plans to allocate an additional 100 billion yuan in loans in the next five years, which is expected to benefit more than 600,000 rural households.
