Huzhou sustains efforts in tourism promotion

Huzhou in East China's Zhejiang province reached a cooperative agreement with online travel agency Ctrip in Shanghai on March 3, according to local media reports.
According to the agreement, the two will raise Huzhou's profile as a national tourist resort. Ctrip will also inaugurate training bases for camping and team building activities in Huzhou.
That same day, Huzhou also unveiled some tourism routes in the Yangtze River Delta and released 10 million yuan ($1.54 million) worth of coupons that can be used in local scenic spots, hotels and restaurants.
As a co-host city of the 19th Asian Games, Huzhou also introduced some routes highlighting sports events including hiking and skiing.
Huzhou's tourism sector has been gaining traction quickly in recent years.
The number of visitors it received in 2021 increased by 26 percent, while its tourism revenue surged by 31 percent, according to statistics released by Ctrip.
Its popularity as a tourism site, which is measured by search times on the platform, also rose by 65 percent in the past year.
