Three Huzhou cases were recently listed among the best practices in promoting the "common prosperity" campaign launched by East China's Zhejiang province.

One of the three cases from Huzhou is related to public hospital reform.

The city has over the years made strides in facilitating the balanced distribution of medical resources in urban and rural areas. For example, the city was ranked first in a provincial evaluation for the comprehensive reform of public hospitals in 2021, the fourth consecutive year it won the honor, according to the Zhejiang provincial healthcare commission.

Last year, the average emergency treatment and in-patient costs in public hospitals in Huzhou were 7.4 percent and 22.4 percent lower than the provincial averages respectively. The satisfaction of out-patients and in-patients in public hospitals was 95.1 and 96.2 respectively.

Preschool education reform that involves expanding the inclusiveness of kindergartens in Huzhou's Anji county was also honored as a provincial model.

The proportion of inclusive kindergartens in the county currently stands at 94.7 percent.

The approach adopted by Huzhou's Changxing county to raise incomes of low-income farmers made the list as well.

Since 2018, the county has helped 2,265 low-income households increase their income by 107,900 yuan ($16,600) on average, official statistics show. Its practice has even been included in a book compiled and published by the Poverty Alleviation Office of the State Council and promoted to the whole country.
