A tourism festival featuring flowers and crayfish was held in Shicong village, Nanxun district, Huzhou, East China's Zhejiang province on June 1, local media reported.

The festival, scheduled to run until June 5, features activities related to food, music, camping and e-games.

Shicong has held the festival five years in a row. Its previous four editions attracted more than 3.5 million visitors in total.

This year, discount coupons for the event were issued on Nantaihuhao, an app backed by the local government. With these coupons, visitors can save 20 yuan ($3.08) for every 50 yuan they spend.

Authorities estimate that the festival would generate 38 million yuan in revenue.

Shicong village has become a hit destination in recent years. It has been listed among national leisure villages and designated a national 3A scenic spot, the second highest grade in the nation's classification system for scenic attractions.

The village has also earned itself a reputation as a flower haven. In 2017, it spent nearly 13 million yuan to construct a flower plantation that spans nearly 1,200 mu (80 hectares).

The influx of visitors has also led to a spike in the number of tourism facilities in the village, including hotels, restaurants, as well as a camping site.
