Enterprises in Huzhou, East China's Zhejiang province have seen robust growth in their cross-border e-commerce exports after establishing warehouses overseas.

Topsun, a Huzhou-based outdoor leisure furniture manufacturer, has shipped over 100 million yuan ($15.38 million) worth of goods to its overseas warehouses this year.

According to Huang Yuan, the manager of the logistics department of Topsun, it used to take three to four weeks for foreign customers to receive goods after placing orders. Now, due to the overseas warehouses, the goods can be delivered to them within two to three days.

The establishment of the warehouses has helped the company slash logistics costs and improve the speed of deliveries, and this has in turn made their products more popular in overseas markets, Huang said.

In addition to Topsun, Huzhou Iron Metal Products Co Ltd, an auto parts supplier based in Huzhou that exports goods to countries including Germany and Poland, also set up an overseas warehouse in June.

To date, more than 300 businesses from Huzhou are involved in cross-border e-commerce exports and 11 have established overseas warehouses.
