Huzhou has built or renovated 187.6 kilometers of roads in its rural areas so far this year, and the length is expected to hit 220 kilometers by the end of October, two months earlier than the target set by the government.

Changtan village in Zhangcun town, Anji county is among the beneficiaries of the city's improved rural road network.

The upgrading of the road to the canyon rafting project built by the village was completed in May as scheduled.

The road's increased width has improved access to the tourism project, which receives 200,000 tourists annually.

In 2021, Huzhou became the first city in Zhejiang to have all its administrative areas honored as provincial models in rural road construction.

Earlier this year, Huzhou's Deqing county was honored as a national model in rural road construction.

The Huzhou government is aiming to have a bus station within a kilometer in over 90 percent of its administrative villages and have more than 80 percent of towns connected with counties (districts) via bus lines.

In addition, authorities have set the goal of making bus services available to scenic spots rated at A level or above.
