Huzhou took home 12 awards at an award ceremony held in Hangzhou, capital city of Zhejiang on Aug 31 to honor accomplishments in rural digitalized development in the province.

Huzhou's Deqing county was honored as one of the 10 best counties in Zhejiang in that regard. An app developed by Changxing county for local sheep farming industry was listed among the 10 best applications.

In addition, eight villages including Xiaoyangshan village, Miaoshan village and Ganghu village in Huzhou made the list of the 100 model villages for rural digitalized development.

Launched in June 2021, the event solicited 5,000 cases of rural digital reform from over 10,000 villages across Zhejiang and evaluated them based on factors including digital infrastructure, digital industries and digital services.

Huzhou has showed outstanding performances in promoting digitalization in agriculture and rural areas in recent years.

The city has been ranked first in Zhejiang in terms of rural and agricultural digitalization for three years in a row.

It is also the first city in China to have all of its administrative counties classified as areas that have highly digitalized agricultural and rural areas.

Presently, all villages in Deqing, which is considered one of the driving forces in Huzhou's quest to promote digitalization in rural areas, have 5G network coverage.
