Huzhou in East China's Zhejiang province recently launched a campaign to boost consumption in the autumn.

The campaign, which is slated to run from September to November, will include 35 large-scale events such as shopping festivals and expos aimed at stimulating consumption in fields including housing, culture, agriculture, cars and home furnishings.

Fifty commercial complexes across Huzhou will take part in the program. Customers paying with digital yuan wallets will be entitled to discounts in some stores in Wuxing district.

Coupons will also be issued by the local government during the campaign. This month alone, nearly 20 million yuan ($3.08 million) worth of coupons are expected to be released, according to local authorities.
