The tourism market in Huzhou, East China's Zhejiang province experienced a recovery over the three-day Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, local authorities said.

Online sales of tickets to local scenic spots more than doubled compared with the Dragon Boat Festival holiday. About 70 percent of visitors opted to travel within the city or to surrounding cities.

Night tours were hugely popular among tourists as Huzhou launched a series of traditional activities including lantern making events and circus shows to mark the festival at night.

Public cultural venues including libraries and museums also emerged as popular destinations to spend the holiday. Official statistics show that more than 100 online and offline activities were launched by cultural venues in Huzhou, attracting 49,600 visitors.

In addition, camping with children in rural areas was highly favored by visitors.
