Report to congress inspires cadres, the masses
The report delivered at the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, which commenced in Beijing on Oct 16, stirred up a heated discussion among grassroots cadres and the masses in Huzhou, East China's Zhejiang province.
Wang Qingnian, a Party member and a retired veteran soldier, said he was overwhelmed with emotions after listening to the remarks about the Party's relationship with the people.
"The people are the lifeblood of the Party, and we must always act in their interests," Wang said, adding that he will continue to devote himself to the nation's interests.
Wang Zhipeng, deputy general manager of Zhejiang Longhu Forging Co Ltd, said he has been inspired by the report's remarks to continue focusing on developing the economy.
The report, Wang said, has showed him a bright future of the real economy, and he will do his utmost to contribute to the nation's development.
Wang is not the only one to feel this way.
Sheng Awei, Party chief of Huandu village in Huzhou's Anji county, said that under the Party's leadership, people's sense of happiness has increased.
According to Sheng, Huangdu village has sent white tea seedlings to five impoverished counties in three provinces since 2018. The donations have greatly increased the incomes of residents in these places.
Efforts to improve people's wellbeing and quality of life were also mentioned in the report. Feng Xinqin, an official at the Huzhou municipal development and reform commission, pledged that local authorities will focus on fulfilling people's needs and promote common prosperity.
Shen Bingliang, president of a fishery cooperative in Qianjin town, Huzhou's Nanxun district, said that the significance the Party has attached to rural vitalization shown in the report has strengthened his confidence in rural development.
