As of Oct 21, the Huzhou-Hangzhou section of the Hefei-Hangzhou High-speed Railway has been opened to traffic for a month.
With a designed speed of 350 kilomters/h, the section spans 137.8 km and has six stops in Huzhou, Deqing, Hangzhou, Fuyang and Tonglu. Deqing and Tonglu are two sub-venues of the recently postponed Asian Games.
During the past month, the Huzhou Station and Deqing Station saw nearly 210,000 passenger trips, while the figure for the Hangzhou West Station stood at about 100,000, peaking at 16,000 a day during the seven-day National Day holiday, according to local railway authorities.
The railway's opening has boosted connectivity between Games venues, accelerate Huzhou's integration into the Yangtze River Delta, as well as bolster the construction of the "one-hour" traffic circle pattern in Zhejiang, in which passengers from any city in the province can get to another within an hour.
The rail, which links numerous scenic spots including Taihu Lake, Mount Mogan, West Lake and Fuchun River, has also injected new vitality to the region's tourism.
