Two areas from Huzhou were recently listed as provincial models for rural common prosperity in Zhejiang, according to local media reports.
Changshuo Guli Belt
The Changshuo Guli Belt passes through two towns – Zhangwu and Tianzihu – in Huzhou's Anji county.
The 16-kilometer belt, which is named after local artist Wu Changshuo, starts from Xigang village and ends at Jingwu village, and has in recent years made strides in pursuing common prosperity by developing tourism, fan-making and characteristic agriculture.
Wu Changshuo (1844-1927), born in Zhangwu town, was a prominent painter, calligrapher, and seal artist during the late Qing Dynasty (1840-1921). He was also the first president of the Xiling Seal Art Society.
Yuanxiang Xuncha Belt
The Yuanxiang Xuncha Belt contains one main line and two branch lines and passes through Miaoxi town and Daixi town in Huzhou's Wuxing district. The belt spans about 35.5 kilometers and is adjacent to the famous summer resort of Mount Mogan. It is home to two national 4A scenic spots - Xisai Mountain Tourist Resort and Yuanxiang Town.
Characteristic agricultural industries, including grain, oil, fruit, bamboo shoots and seedlings, have been flourishing in the region. Yellow peach produced in Miaoxi town has been designated a national geographical indication product.
