A tourism festival revolving around plum blossoms was launched at the Xiaomeishan Scenic Spot in Huzhou, East China's Zhejiang province on March 5.

Xiaomeishan, who is home to 5,000 plum trees, is widely deemed as the best place to admire the pink flowers in Huzhou.

In addition to flower appreciation, the festival, which is in its first edition this year, will feature activities related to tea making, flower arrangement as well as painting and calligraphy exhibitions.

The event is slated to run until the end of this month, according to the organizers.

The launch ceremony also witnessed the establishment of the Huzhou Culture and Tourism Group, a State-owned company that promotes the integration of the local culture and tourism sectors.
