A government delegation headed by Zhang Tong, Party chief of Guang'an, visited Huzhou, East China's Zhejiang province, from May 12 to 13.

The delegation visited places such as Huzhou City Planning Museum, Yigao village in Wuxing district, and Shiquan village in Changxing county as well as companies like Tianneng Group and Noblelift Intelligent Equipment Co Ltd.

During their stay, officials from the two cities agreed to leverage their respective strengths to further bilateral cooperation on a larger scale.

Guang'an, administered by Southwest China's Sichuan province, was paired with Huzhou in April 2018 under the "pairing assistance" program launched by the central government, which sees more prosperous provinces and municipalities in East China lend support to underdeveloped regions of the country.

Over the past five years, Huzhou has allocated nearly 1 billion yuan ($143.85 million) to aid Guang'an. Projects co-built by the two cities in Guang'an have helped 35,000 people increase their income.
